District 3 must be number 1
Above all else, District 3 needs a Council member whose heart and soul is in District 3. Too often Council members have real estate or business interests outside of their district. This forces them to vote either for their personal interests or for their district’s interests. All of my real estate and business interests are in District 3. I will fight to ensure that our district receives its fair share of city services and improvements.
Safety and security are essential
• Expand traffic patrols and stationing of patrol cars around busy intersections and along busy streets.
• Increase the overall number of Police Officers Patrolling throughout the District to reduce crime.
• Vigorously enforce public nuisance and disturbance ordinances.
Fiscal responsibility
• No new taxes before all waste and abuse is identified and eliminated.
• I will study the impact of the revised water rates and make immediate changes if these new rates are creating a hardship for our citizens or do not encourage conservation.
• Support emergency personnel with adequate compensation, benefits and safety equipment.
• I will be a voice of reason on the Council and ask why we need a $15,000 conference table when our parks and public buildings are not well maintained.
Open and good government
• Explore conducting more city business during evening hours when more citizens may participate.
• I will support a limited term of two or no more than three consecutive terms for council members and I personally will not serve more than two terms.
City projects and economic development
• Build a new animal shelter.
• Secure future water rights.
• Partner with Texas Tech to ensure its growth and continued success.
• Ensure that District 3 receives its share of capital projects and improvements
